Blue Jays vs. Footwear: Series Preview

Dan VerhaegheMay 15, 2009
The Yankees have gotten the fuck out of Toronto and the Jays are now hoping to forget everything that wasn't game 1. Aside from the f'awesome game on Tuesday the last 2 nights have left an awful taste in the mouth, and the Yankees are now at .500 and the division race suddenly seems that much tighter. Luckily, Boston still sits 1 game back of our heroes as the glorious May 2-4 weekend starts.
The ChiSox roll into town sitting at 15-18, 4th in the AL Central, only 2 games back showing just how much the spirit of mediocrity has permeated into the midwest. They've been sliding hard, 3-7 in their last 10, 7-10 on the road and have a 136-158 run differential and present a nice rebound opportunity for the Jays to build up momentum and return to their winning ways before a big firstplace showdown in Beantown starts on Tuesday.

The Jays took 2 games last time they played the White Sox, in the wonderful series of windy, rainy blowouts.
Tonight: Brett Cecil (1-0 0.64) vs. John Danks (2-2 3.41)
Cecil = fucking nails.
Tomorrow: Robert Ray (0-1 6.00) vs. Bortolo Butthole (2-3 4.88)
Dear God please give us a miracle to save us from Robert Ray sucking choad.
Sunday: Roy Hallday (7-1 2.95) vs. Gavin Floyd (2-3 7.32)
Yeah this looks like a very fair match-up doesn't it?
Holiday Monday: Scott Richmond (4-2 4.28) vs. Clayton Richard (0-0 5.40)
Richmond is the only Canadian not going to a cottage this weekend, hopefully he avoids another shaky 2nd and the Jays kick some ass in the finale.
