Sabathia Goes the Distance. Mo Slams the Door, As Yanks Win 3-2

The Yanks are back at the .500 mark! It seemed like it would take forever for them to get back to that point. Haha. Maybe the team can string together a few more wins and move up in the standings.

CC Sabathia followed up his last start with another great performance tonight. His line was: W, 8IP  5H 2R 2ER 4BB 5K. Mariano pitched the 9th inning and picked up his 7th save of the season.

Derek Jeter went 1-5 with an RBI. Hideki Matsui returned to the lineup tonight and really helped out the team. Matsui hit a solo HR in the 8th inning off of Carlson to take a 3-2 lead.

The Yankees head home tomorrow and will open up a four game series against the Minnesota Twins. The pitching matchup will be RHP Phil Hughes vs. LHP Fransisco Liriano.
