With a rain delay causing a shift in how the Grand Slam’s schedule is laid out, per ESPN, Day 4 of the U.S. Open is full of the biggest names in action.
Not only is Serena Williams rescheduled to play Thursday, but the inclusion of huge stars like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Caroline Wozniacki and Victoria Azarenka in the festivities will also make this one of the most memorable days of the tournament.

Scheduled Matchups You Can’t Miss
No. 1 Serena Williams vs. Galina Voskoboeva
Women’s No. 1 seed and world No. 1 female tennis player Serena Williams was scheduled to play Wednesday, but the rain forced a delay for several games on the women’s side.
That means Williams will take center stage on Day 4.
As well as Russian star Galina Voskoboeva has been playing coming into her second-round matchup with Williams, the American sensation has far too much power and lateral speed to fall victim to her challenger.
Williams will be fresh given her extra day off, and fans should expect the top player on the women’s side to make short work of Voskoboeva.
No. 7 Roger Federer vs. Carlos Berlocq
It is odd seeing tennis legend Roger Federer as a seventh seed in a tournament, but with lackluster play coming into the U.S. Open, he is right where he belongs.
While Carlos Berlocq shouldn’t be able to hold a candle to the raw skill and experience of Federer, the Swiss star's deteriorating speed and return ability are genuinely concerning.
Federer was able to win the Gerry Weber Open in June of this year, but early losses at the French Open (beat by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarterfinals) and Wimbledon (lost to Sergiy Stakhovsky in the second round) prove he is not the same player he once was.
At 32 years old, Federer may have a hard time beating Berlocq Thursday.
No. 2 Rafael Nadal vs. Rogerio Dutra Silva
Just as many fans are concerned for the future of Federer, there is also concern for Rafael Nadal's injury history and his waning abilities on any surface other than clay.
While Nadal had been dealing with knee issues at the close of 2012 and the start of 2013, his huge win at the French Open was trumped by a first-round loss at Wimbledon.
Journeyman Rogerio Dutra Silva has to see Nadal’s surprising performance in June as his chance to shine.
Dutra Silva is a strong player, but with Nadal winning the Rogers Cup and the Western & Southern Open leading into the U. S. Open, the Spanish star is still the clear favorite to win.
Fans who were concerned about Nadal will see his talent on full display Thursday.
