Preview Game 32: Phillies - Dodgers

The Phillies look to take the series victory at home against their NLCS opponents from last fall. Cole Hamels, MVP of the NLCS (and World Series) will get the nod today. For Hamels he is looking for his second straight victory. The Dodgers will counter with Chad Billingsley, who is 5-1.
Hamels was impressive in his last start, going six strong innings en route to his first win in 2009. He has pitched well in games before that but has had to leave early due to what can only be considered bad luck. A twisted ankle and a line drive right at him forced the young ace to leave games early.
All eyes will be on Hamels to make it through six innings, hopefully seven, with the lead. For that to happen though his teammates will have to put some runs on the board. Against Billingsley that is easier said than done.
Billingsley picked up his first loss of the season in his last outing. In 2009 he has struck out 47 batters and has a WHIP of 1.13. However Billingsley is 1-3 lifetime against the Phillies with a 7.04 ERA. He also lost two games in the NLCS last year, including the clincher wit Hamels as the starter.
The Phillies are just 8-11 at home this season.
