The Rockies, in their history have always been a tale of two teams. There’s the Rockies at home, who can beat anybody, anytime, and there’s the road Rockies, who sometimes play like the Bad News Bears. Well, last night they hosted the Astros, and wouldn’t you know it, they won 12-1 in a laugher.

We expect much of the same tonight, as the Rockies host the Astros again in the finale of a two game series at Coors Field. Colorado sends righty Jason Marquis to the hill tonight. Marquis has been great in his first season in the Purple and Black, pitching to a 4-2 record with a 3.92 ERA. Marquis has become the de facto ace of the staff given Aaron Cook and Ublado Jimenez’ early season struggles.

Houston counters with lefty Mike Hampton (1-3, 4.91), who returns to the place of his biggest career failures in Colorado. Hampton was supposed to be the solution to all of Colorado’s pitching woes when he signed there in 2001, but never got it going, and is considered one of the biggest free agent busts of all time. It’s nice to see him back after a series of injuries nearly derailed his career, but we’re pretty sure he still has nightmares about his time in Colorado.

Easy win for the Rockies tonight.
