The Royals will look to avenge last night’s blowout at the hands of the Athletics in the finale of a two game series tonight in Oakland. The A’s pounded Royals starter Luke Hochevar on Tuesday night to the tune of a 12-3 victory.

Kansas City sends righty Brian Bannister to the mound looking to continue his brilliant start to the season. Bannister, who started the year in Triple A, heads to the hill tonight with a sporty 3-0 record and 1.48 ERA. Not bad for a guy who many people gave up on before the season.

Oakland lefty Josh Outman (0-0 4.79) will get the call for the A’s tonight and will be looking for his first decision in 5 starts. Outman has pitched pretty well thus far, but has only made it into the sixth inning in one start this season. He projects more as a reliever, but with Oakland’s early season pitching woes, he’s been asked to start for a while, and the A’s can’t be too disappointed in the results. The concern here is that at home he’s been pretty bad, as his ERA is above 6 and batters are hitting .308 against him at spacious Oakland- Alameda County Stadium.

Looks like the Royals bounce back nicely from last night’s drubbing.
