What a shot in the arm (pun intended) for the Yankees last night with the return of Alex Rodriguez. On the first pitch he saw of the 2009 season, A Rod launched a Jeremy Guthrie fastball into the left field bleachers as the Yankees went on to a 4-0 win over the Orioles last night.
 
This should be just the infusion of life the Bombers are looking for as they look to bounce back from their 14-15 start. Righty Phil Hughes takes the mound tonight for the pinstripers, He has been terrific so far in ‘09 after struggling as a rookie in 2008. The addition of Rodriguez into the lineup clearly makes New York one of the teams to beat in the American League.
 
Baltimore counters with Adam Eaton, who has been pretty awful in his 5 starts thus far (1-3, 7.18 ERA). The Orioles are in last place in the American League East and more than likely will finish there for the 2nd straight season. Baltimore has some talent in their lineup, but needs to turn it around on the mound before even thinking about contending in that division.
 
Look for the Yankees to roll to another victory tonight at Oriole Park.
