Manny Suspended 50 Games. Who's Next?
I thought he was just an arrogant jerk. You know; all the Manny Being Manny crap & wanting more than 45 million. Now he's just plain stupid apparently. The "Best Pure right-handed hitter in the game", has tested positive. Not for steroids, not for HGH, not for being a jerk (although we know this). Manny Ramirez has tested positive for.....
HCG. That's right.... a fertility drug. But HCG is used also to restore testosterone that was lost during a steroid cycle, something sort of like Clomid. I'm not saying he used steroids or anything so let's get that out of the way.

The only thing that he would benefit from is a boost in testosterone. Other than that, I really don't want to know. So what does this do for the Dodgers season? Without Ramirez, the LA Dodgers are 26-24 since he arrived last year, a meager .520 win percentage. Not bad; but not good. With Ramirez, they are 29-21 which comes out to a .580 winning percentage. Better; but there's always room for improvement. Now here's the killer for the Dodgers. Manny was batting .348 with six home runs and 20 RBIs. They'll certainly lose a potent bat (giggity) in the lineup while he's out until July 3rd. I don't know alot about the Dodgers farm teams; but someone is going to have to step up either from AAA or on the bench.
This is the NL West though. A laughably weak division that can be won by anyone. You could put my Indians in that division & they'd win it. This will hurt the Dodgers, there's no two ways around it; but I'm not going to rule them out. They've got some good talent such as James Loney, Matt Kemp to name a few. Don't be surprised to see them try to make a trade or pick up a reliable free agent to pick up some of the slack; but more than anything they'll probably call someone up from Albuquerque.
So who's next to be accused? Sizemore, Pujols, Griffey? Anything's possible nowadays.
