Will WWE Tailor Major Storylines Around Plugging Total Divas?

WWE’s Total Divas premieres on the E! Network July 28 at 10 p.m. ET. The show will feature the Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie), the Funkadactyls (Cameron and Naomi), Natalya, Jo-Jo Offerman and Eva Marie.

This is the first venue for WWE in the reality TV weekly programming. The show will be scripted and feature big moments, such as the wedding of Natalya and Tyson Kidd. However, the show can take a fascinating turn.

Will the WWE tailor major storylines around plugging Total Divas?

For starters, the show already had its promo during Raw on June 24. Despite its lackluster effort, it made fans aware of the show even more than their commercials during WWE broadcasts.

Secondly, Total Divas has already "premiered" without us knowing it. Tyson and Natalya Kidd's wedding was made public by the WWE and will be broadcast on the show. Their real-life wedding should play a factor in future storylines. Don’t expect their real-life romance to take a backseat. They’ve already used the real marriage of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon on live TV. Why not another real couple?

This brings us to the Bellas, who are dating two high-profile WWE Superstars.

Nikki Bella is currently dating WWE Champion John Cena, while Brie is seeing Daniel Bryan. The latest rumor surrounding the WWE title shows the two men facing each other at SummerSlam, with The Wrestling Observer (via wrestlinginc.com) being assured it will happen. Why not have the WWE cross-promote their reality show with other WWE programming?

It would be a great move for the WWE to do this. The Bellas can get the press for their show, since they’re featured in the main commercials. Adding them to Cena and Bryan’s potential program can make the Bellas interesting again. Separating them and partnering them with their superstar boyfriends could also bring new dimensions to their beaus’ characters.

Regardless, integrating storylines with Total Divas would bring more notoriety to the WWE. It would also help the Divas’ division with more press other than AJ and Kaitlyn. They shouldn’t cross-promote every time, but it would be good to give the Divas more exposure. If any division needs it more than any other, it’s the Divas’ division.

Total Divas can bring them that much-needed exposure.
