Defensive Wizard Asdrubal Cabrera

I watch as much Indians baseball as I can through the season.  But I live such busy life I really don't have much time.  I will tell you though that for the past three seasons I have definitely watched more because of Asdrubal Cabrera.

When I watch the guy in the field it takes me back to when Omar Vizquel was playing shortstop for the Tribe years ago.

Overall I try to watch all of the other young players in the league also to see how they are fairing in the League but I keep coming back to Asdrubal as being the best infielder in Major League Baseball.

Now I know this going to rattle a few feathers with some of the other die hard fans who love to watch there teams and baseball in general but this is just an opinion.  I will admit it is a strong one.

Asdrubal has only 5 fielding errors in the past three years at second-base, and that tells me that it's going to be a hard argument to win.

If there is anyone better I would love to see this guy play.  I know stats are not everything but when it comes to fielding.  The stats for fielding never lie about how good a defensive player is on the fielding.

Of course there going to be some folks out there who are going to say that he is not a complete player because of his bat also.  I will give you that he has not had the best bat of the second-baseman in Major Leagues.

Did Omar have the best bat either?

I know that Asdrubal has only really played one full year in the majors but it is hard to argue that he is not at least in the top-5 of the best middle infielders in the league.

I was just feeling like I had to say something for Asdrubal he really doesn't get a lot of publicity for what he brings to the Indians club.

Some of the plays that I have seen him pull off are rivaling some of the things the "wizard himself" Ozzie Smith used to do in his hay day with the St.Louis Cardinals.

I am willing to say this I think that Ozzie himself would say that Asdrubal is one of the top talents in Major League Baseball as an infielder.
