Joe's 411: B/R Pro-Wrestling News (Cinco De Mayo Edition)

Joe Burgett May 5, 2009

Welcome to another Joe's 411: B/R pro-Wrestling News, the best place to get all of your news of the day you could possibly want to know.

From Releases to signings, I will have it all here on B/R.

For all of you who want to see World Titles stay on Champions longer, you may be getting it soon. Vince McMahon spoke in January about hating to see a World Title stay on a wrestler for a month or less.

He felt they needed to stay on them for months at a time, and put them over big. So that when they lose, the new Champion will look like he is the best there on that show. Right now, World Champions do not look that way. So Vince does have a point.

Edge alone has won 4 World Titles in 7 months. He won one at Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, No Way Out, and Backlash.

Now with that said, it is pretty obvious that World Champions will not lose at Judgement Day as they all just won their titles at the last WWE PPV in Backlash.

So SPOILER ALERT! But neither Randy Orton, Edge, or Christian will lose.

It is kind of sad that the WWE has been letting World Titles go around like candy with the top guys. So I am personally glad it will stop soon.

Speaking of World Champions...

Randy Orton is rumored to hold his WWE Championship for a while, until sometime in the Fall. No word yet on who he will lose it to, but it does look that he will lose it.

The storyline most are hearing now, is Ted DiBiase will cost him the WWE Title accidentally.

Orton would get angry and attack him. Since DiBiase is turning babyface in the Fall anyway to promote The Marine 2, it would be good to feud with a top guy in the company like Orton.

Since the WWE Title will be out of the way, it would be a matter of a personal issue for this storyline.

DiBiase would of course accidentally cost Orton the title, but Orton would not see it that way. DiBiase would be talking behind Orton's back similar to what he was doing before with Rhodes.

Orton would over hear some things, as he did before. And think DiBiase was plotting against him the whole time. And the storyline would go on from there.

I personally think it is a good idea to see a DiBiase/Orton feud. It would be similar to what happened to Orton in Evolution. But I feel this could work because it is a totally different storyline excluding the fact that Evolution turned on Orton and Orton would turn on DiBiase.

I feel this would get DiBiase a good push, which he does deserve. Maybe enough to get him a World Title out of it.

Speaking of World Titles...

Vladimir Kozlov has been talking for a long time about wanting a title. Now that he is on ECW, it seems that it will happen.

For a while Kozlov was undefeated on SmackDown, he was loved by Vince McMahon the whole time. So much so, that he was added to the match at Survivor Series for the WWE Title.

The WWE saw a bad match at that point. It was incredibly boring to watch Triple H and Kozlov fight, which resulted in TNA chants during the match.

Edge's WWE return didn't come soon enough, as he came in because of Jeff Hardy being attacked and unable to be there. Hardy did appear however, towards the end of the match.

Edge ended up winning the WWE Title though.

However, this meant he was not ready to be in a match with a guy like Triple H for match reasons.

McMahon loved The Great Khali if you remember, and had him win the World Heavyweight Championship. It did not turn out well, as he was a horrible Champion.

McMahon stills loves Kozlov though, and wants him to succeed. But he feels that he needs to win another title, like the ECW Championship to show he well he would do as the top guy on a brand.

He doesn't want the same thing to happen with Kozlov as it did with Khali, and totally bomb in the WWE's face.

Since ECW is the C Brand, it seems like a good idea.

Kozlov should be getting his shot at the ECW Championship within the next few months. Of course Jack Swagger is taking on ECW Champion Christian at Judgement Day. So for now, he will not be in a match for the title.

I could see him getting a match either at the Extreme Rules PPV or Night of Champions. Which are the next two PPVs after Judgment Day.

He should be winning it in that match. So if they want to have Christian hold the title a long time, they may have Kozlov not face Christian for a while.

It would be a good 3 month reign if they hold off to NOC, which seems like the best time for him to lose.

Also Drew McIntyre of FCW should be getting called up soon along with a few others in FCW as I mentioned in an earlier article.

They will all go to the ECW roster, and of course with that said they will not all be coming up at the same time.

McIntyre is rumored to go with the heel role, so he may face a jobber in his first match just to get people to know who he is. It would be a show off type match, where he would get us acquainted with him.

That is all for the 411 today.

Also remember to send me your questions on things you want to know in the world of wrestling. I am starting a new article that will only be answers to your questions, called The B/R Weekly Wrestling Mailbag.

Which of course, will be weekly. So you have a whole week to ask the questions.
