Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals Live Blog: Results and Analysis

Daniel WilliamsJun 20, 2013

The St. Louis Cardinals (47-26) defeated the Chicago Cubs (29-42) 6-1 in the final game of their four-game series from Busch Stadium.

Lance Lynn went six innings, struck out six, and scattered three hits en route to his 10th win of the season. Lynn joins teammate Adam Wainwright for the NL lead in wins and Max Scherzer of Detroit for the MLB lead.

Matt Holliday belted his 11th home run and added an RBI single to give Lynn the lead, and it would be all he needed. Allen Craig added a pinch-hit, 2-RBI single in the Cardinals four-run sixth inning. The Cardinals took three of the four games in the series.

Scott Feldman gave up five earned runs on six hits while walking four. He did not receive any run support and falls to 6-6 on the season.

The Cubs mustered only five hits, three of which from catcher Welington Castillo—who hit his second home run of the season. Chicago only got one hit from the first six hitters in their lineup.

The Cardinals welcome the Texas Rangers on Friday for the first game of a three-game weekend series. The Cubs will head home to the friendly confines of Wrigley Field for a weekend set with the Houston Astros.
