WWE News: Vince McMahon Weighs in on the Rock's Departure

Gone Baby GoneJun 8, 2018

On Thursday, former WWE champ The Rock celebrated his 41st birthday.

This prompted several fans to take to the web and wish the star a happy birthday; among those well-wishers was none other than WWE honcho Vince McMahon.

He took to Twitter to not only send birthday wishes to "The Brahma Bull," but also to comment on The Rock's recent departure from the company.

Happy Birthday to @therock who went out on his shield a hero @wrestlemania

Even though it was a short statement, it spoke volumes on how McMahon truly feels about The Rock. Now, one has to wonder if this tweet was McMahon's way of acknowledging The Rock is indeed finished with his in-ring WWE career.

The fact is, there really is no need for the action star to head back to the company that made him, as he is by far the most successful wrestler-turned-actor in the company's history.

Keep in mind, he has been very loyal to the WWE and will most likely help out when he can. Which, to me, means appearances that will prove to be mutually beneficial for both parties, as opposed to his latest run, which clearly benefited the WWE more than The Rock.

Ultimately, if WrestleMania 29 was indeed "The Great One's" final match, he can at least look back and be content with the result. Granted, he didn't come out on top, but he did the job he was supposed to and helped bring a serious profit to the WWE's bottom line.

Overall, it's nice to see Vince McMahon is grateful for The Rock's service, especially considering there has been so much speculation on how the company felt about the way he he left.

In the end, I am certain this won't be the last time that these two parties cross paths.
