WWE WrestleMania 29 Matches That Will Steal the Show

Brian MaziqueApr 7, 2013

Most fans that choose to order WrestleMania 29 will be doing so to see The Rock and John Cena battle for the WWE championship, or to see if CM Punk can indeed end the Undertaker's unbeaten streak at WrestleMania.

While I too will be watching those matches intently, I have my eye on a few others that will likely feature even more action.

Don't sleep on these matchups heading into Sunday's epic pay-per-view event.

Fandango vs. Chris Jericho

Fans won't be chanting: "you can't wrestle" at Fandango after Sunday night. With the WWE dragging out his debut, there is a lot of pressure on him to produce an amazing match against Chris Jericho.

I don't think he or Y2J will disappoint in this one.

Fandango is athletic, full of personality and Jericho is great guy to match him with early in the push process. I am expecting this to be the best worked match of the night.

Fans will walk away from WrestleMania 29 with a newfound respect for Fandango and even more adulation for Jericho.

Intercontinental Championship—The Miz vs. (c) Wade Barrett

I'm not sure this feud has any long-standing legs, but I love The Miz at big events.

This one is technically not part of the pay-per-view because it will be streamed for free on YouTube and Facebook, but it will still be an opportunity for The Miz to shine in front of a huge audience.

It seems the WWE may be trying to brand him as the next great WrestleMania performer.

He has recently spoken on his accomplishments at the Showcase of the Immortals on Raw, and I expect him to take Barrett's title on Sunday.

The Miz should be able to shine in the ring with Barrett as they match up well from a size standpoint. Every one of The Miz's moves should come off well, and Barrett should also have his moments.

As pre-show matches go, this is one of the best I've seen from a star-appeal standpoint, so fans should get an early treat.

Tag-Team Championship - Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston vs. (c) Team Hell No

Ziggler and Daniel Bryan are an awesome feud just waiting to happen. Their in-ring moments together will be among the best things you see on Sunday.

When you factor in the Kane and Big E Langston angle, this could have a little bit of everything. It was interesting to see Langston counter Kane's chokeslam, as that equates to an epic endorsement for the big man.

This will be an entertaining tag team championship match.

Follow me, because wrestling is a part of our lives.
