WWE: What a Win at WrestleMania 29 Would Mean for Each Superstar

John NizinskiApr 7, 2013

WrestleMania 29 is finally here. All the matches are set and the superstars are ready to compete.

Going into the WWE's biggest event of the year, each superstar obviously wants to come out with a win. It would both be an important milestone in each of their careers and would lead to something significant for them going forward.

Here is a look at what a win at WrestleMania would mean for each WWE superstar.

Tons of Funk

1 of 22

Right now, Tons of Funk is a comic-relief tag team. The transformation of Lord Tensai into Sweet T was somewhat funny in the beginning, but the gimmick is going to get old.

But a win could jump them into discussion for the tag team titles, especially if Dolph and Big E win their match for the titles.

Tons of Funk could be their first challengers for the Tag Team Championships.

The Funkadactyls

2 of 22

The Funkadactyls have only really accompanied Brodus Clay to the ring and haven't been in many matches. But in the matches they have been in, they've been pretty entertaining and impressive.

A win at WrestleMania 29, could get them some more consistent time in action and also help turn around the Divas division. They could show that Divas deserve more attention and give the division more depth.

Team Rhodes Scholars

3 of 22

We have seen recently that the WWE is not exactly sure what to do with Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow. They broke up as a tag team, but then decided to reunite when they didn't really have a direction in singles competition.

Now they are competing at WrestleMania in a mixed tag team match. A win would mean they would probably stay together as a tag team. Also, they should be the next tag team in line to challenge for the Tag Team Championship belts.

The Bella Twins

4 of 22

The return of the Bella Twins adds some depth to the already-popular Divas division.

A win in their match at WrestleMania 29 could put them in a position to start competing for the Divas championship. Current Divas champion Kaitlyn has been having some weird relations with Cody Rhodes.

The conflict of interest between the Bellas, Kaitlyn and Rhodes could set that feud up perfectly.

The Miz

5 of 22

The Miz and Wade Barrett have had a forgettable feud. Which is probably why they were picked to be the pre-show match.

Since the Miz turned face, he has been pretty stagnant and irrelevant. But a win over Barrett would give him the Intercontinental Championship and be his first success as a face.

It would also be his second reign as IC Champion and give him his 10th belt in the WWE. I see his first title defense coming against a newer superstar like Fandango or a member of the Shield.

Wade Barrett

6 of 22

Wade Barrett has been at the cusp of being one of the top superstars in the WWE, but he has yet to make that jump. In order for Barrett to finally move up, he would have to drop the Intercontinental Championship.

So a win over the Miz at WrestleMania would mean that the company is still not ready to give him a big push yet. We would probably see his rivalry with Bo Dallas pick back up.

Chris Jericho

7 of 22

The legend Chris Jericho will take on the rookie Fandango at WrestleMania. I'm interested to see how well Fandango can hold his own in the ring.

A win at WrestleMania for Jericho over Fandango would pretty much be just another win in his career. It would mean a lot less than what a win for Fandango would mean.

Depending on how long Jericho is staying with the company, a win could possibly lead him into a title shot. If Dolph Ziggler cashes in the Money in the Bank briefcase and wins the World Heavyweight Championship, a perfect feud would be with Jericho.

Fandango

8 of 22

Fandango will make his debut at WrestleMania against Chris Jericho. Between all the promotions and the match bluffs, I think the WWE has done a nice job getting us excited for his debut.

A win would be huge for Fandango and possibly jump him into a storyline for the Intercontinental Championship or the United States Championship.

Team Hell No

9 of 22

Team Hell No has done a nice job of bringing attention to the tag team division. They are obviously two very different superstars and you never know when their instability is going to finally take over and make them feud with each other.

However, a win over Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston would mean that they are going to remain partners for a while longer. The WWE must see them as vital pieces in restoring the tag team division, and they will probably remain a tag team for a significant amount of time after WrestleMania.

Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston

10 of 22

Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston have a shot to be Tag Team Champions—if they can beat Team Hell No at WrestleMania. Two things to note: Langston is making his in-ring debut and Ziggler still holds the Money in the Bank briefcase.

A win would be huge for Langston because it would finally give him some direction since being called up. It also could potentially put two belts on Ziggler if he is able to successfully cash in the MITB briefcase.

A win for these two as a tag team could mean a nice push for the group that consists of Ziggler, Langston and AJ Lee.

Ryback

11 of 22

Ryback versus Mark Henry will be the battle of two monsters at WrestleMania. The two superstars are also in similar situations.

A win for Ryback would make him 1-0 at WrestleMania. It would also most likely push him into either the WWE Championship or World Heavyweight Championship picture.

After the number of times he was screwed by Brad Maddox and the Shield, a win seems necessary for Ryback if he wants to remain at the top of the company.

Mark Henry

12 of 22

Mark Henry is currently in the best gimmick of his career. He is looking to add Ryback into his Hall of Pain at WrestleMania 29.

A win for Henry would be another impressive victory and would keep his dominance going. He would automatically become one of the top contenders for the World Heavyweight Championship or the WWE Championship.

Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show

13 of 22

The team of Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show will take on the Shield at WrestleMania. They will attempt to stop the terror that the Shield has brought to the WWE.

A win for these three would mean several different things for each member.

Orton has been pretty irrelevant and a clean win would probably keep him in that limbo of irrelevancy. People are looking for Orton to turn heel, and if he doesn't, he will most likely stay where he is now.

A win for Sheamus should lead him into any of the championship discussions. He could start a feud with Antonio Cesaro for the United States Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship.

Big Show would continue in his face turn and could possibly restart his feud with Mark Henry.

The Shield

14 of 22

The Shield has made a huge impact in the WWE. They have targeted the top superstars and will face Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show at WrestleMania.

A win at WrestleMania would keep their momentum going and probably put them in position to start competing for championships in the WWE. They could set their sights on the Tag Team Championships and the Intercontinental or United States Championship.

It could start to be like when Evolution held all the major belts in the company.

Triple H

15 of 22

Triple H will take on Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. One of the stipulations of the match is that Triple H's career is on the line.

A win at WrestleMania would keep his career going. I don't think he is ready to hang up his boots just yet. If Triple H beats Lesnar, it will prove he is going to stick around as an in-ring competitor for a while, to go along with his work behind the scenes.

Brock Lesnar

16 of 22

Brock Lesnar is an absolute monster and wrecking machine.

A win over Triple H at WrestleMania would end the career of a legend and probably put him in position to compete for the WWE Championship.

Alberto Del Rio

17 of 22

Alberto Del Rio will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Jack Swagger. He has held the Championship since January, but his run has been a little weak.

If he wins at WrestleMania and Dolph Ziggler doesn't cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase and win, it will show that the WWE is confident with Del Rio holding the belt. It could also mean they aren't confident in Jack Swagger either.

Jack Swagger

18 of 22

Jack Swagger has gotten a nice push since returning from a hiatus and has found himself in the World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania. But during this run, Swagger was busted for a DUI and marijuana possession. He has yet to be penalized by the WWE for the incident.

A win at WrestleMania would mean the WWE doesn't care about the incident and they are serious about the "We the People" gimmick.

CM Punk

19 of 22

CM Punk will be the next person to try and end the Undertaker's undefeated WrestleMania streak. Prior to this feud, Punk held the WWE Championship for over a year.

A win at WrestleMania over the Undertaker would put an end to the most prestigious record in the WWE and immediately make Punk the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship.

Ending Taker's streak would push Punk into the next class of superstars.

The Undertaker

20 of 22

The Undertaker pretty much wrestles one match a year. He comes back to put his streak on the line to the next competitor.

A win over CM Punk would just be another notch in his long belt. It would also prove that he is not done yet and will compete at WrestleMania 30 if he is healthy.

John Cena

21 of 22

John Cena has been the top guy in the WWE for about the last 10 years. He has held the WWE Championship 10 times and is a lock for the Hall of Fame.

A win at WrestleMania 29 would mean a lot for Cena. It would give him redemption for his loss last year to the Rock at WrestleMania. It would also mean he is at the top of the WWE once again.

A win over the Rock at WrestleMania would be a nice addition to his already-impressive resume and show he can compete with the greatest superstars in the history of the company. A win would more than likely feature a long WWE title reign for Cena, since he hasn't held the belt in about a year-and-a-half.

The Rock

22 of 22

The Rock has returned and has done everything he wanted since returning. He is currently the WWE Champion, but it looks as if he will drop the belt to John Cena and go about his life outside of the WWE for a little while.

However, a win at WrestleMania would mean the Rock is serious about saying he is here (in the WWE) to stay. The Rock would prove that he is going to continue trying to manage a career both inside and outside the WWE.

A win by Brock Lesnar and a win by the Rock at WrestleMania could put these two legends up against each other next for the WWE Championship.
