N.Y. Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles: Sunday Night Baseball Live Score, Analysis

The New York Yankees (6-5) defeated the Baltimore Orioles (6-6) on Sunday night, 3-0, behind a complete-game effort from Hiroki Kuroda. 

Both teams were held scoreless through four innings, but the Yankees pulled ahead on Jayson Nix's sacrifice fly. Moments later, Brett Gardner padded the lead with a two-run bomb off Wei-Yin Chen. The home run, his second of the season, smacked off the foul pole.

T.J. McFarland came out of the Orioles bullpen and contained New York from then on.

Mariano Rivera prepared to pitch the ninth, but his services were never needed. Kuroda's 113th pitch whizzed by Chris Davis and brought 34,154 fans to their feet.

With the win, the Yanks have moved above the .500 mark for the first time in 2013. They also seized sole possession of second place in the AL East.
