Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
*Odds according to Vegas Insider on March 18.
Louisville: 9/2
Indiana: 7/1
Duke: 8/1
Florida: 8/1
Miami: 8/1
Kansas: 10/1
Gonzaga 12/1
Ohio State: 15/1
Michigan State: 18/1
Michigan: 18/1
Louisville
Odds: 9/2
Louisville rolls into this tournament like a freight train. They won 10 to close the season and that included capturing the Big East tournament title.
The Cardinals' success stems from their impressive defense. They can suffocate and wear the opposition down.
This is a team with stars, a dynamic scorer in Russ Smith and they can go nine deep. My point is that the Cardinals are loaded and the rightful favorite to take the title.
Indiana
Odds: 7/1
Were it not for some late-season woes, the Indiana Hoosiers would have been the favorite to capture this tournament.
Honestly, I'm surprised the Hoosiers' late-season slide hasn't hurt their chances more. This team proved its merit all season, and three losses came to tournament-bound teams, but they included home losses to Ohio State and Wisconsin by a combined 21 points.
That said, this is a talented team can beat anyone in the nation. They just need to right the ship.
Kansas
Odds: 10/1
The Jayhawks are talented and experienced. With the likes of seniors Jeff Withey, Elijah Johnson and Travis Releford, Kansas has the kind of experience seldom seen these days.
Kansas had a brutal three-game losing streak earlier in the season, but it finished strong by winning 10 of their last 11 games.
As you can tell by the odds, Kansas isn't getting a lot of respect for a No. 1 seed, but that doesn't mean this team should be overlooked.
Gonzaga
Odds: 10/1
The Bulldogs are easy to overlook given their soft schedule, but don't let that lead to you instantly writing them off.
This is a talented team with the shooters to beat anyone. They also have a dominant player in Kelly Olynyk. He provides a nice presence inside, but he can also stretch the defense by going outside. This makes him a matchup nightmare.
The 10-to-1 odds on the Zags are about right. This team is fully capable of running the table, but the lack of experience against elite teams is a big cause for concern.
