NFL Pro Days Schedule 2013: School-by-School Dates and Top Prospects

Patrick ClarkeFeb 19, 2013

After this February's NFL Scouting Combine, NFL coaches, executives, general managers and scouts will turn their attention to the month-long display of college pro day workouts.

Pro day workouts allow players to showcase their skill sets on campus, providing those watching with another glimpse of their potential and what they're capable of bringing to an NFL franchise. These individual samples can often boost a player's stock in the leadup to the most important day of his career.

Below are all of the important pro day workout dates to remember as the 2013 NFL draft nears, as well as some of the more significant pro days upcoming.

Texas A&M, March 8

Johnny Manziel didn't win the Heisman Trophy all on his own in 2012, and he'd be the first to say so. Two players who had a significant role in the Aggies' remarkable 11-2 season this past year, defensive end Damontre Moore and offensive tackle Luke Joeckel, will both work out for scouts on March 8 in College Station, Texas.

Both are projected first-round picks and could potentially go No. 1 and No. 2 in this April's draft. It's certainly not as unlikely as it seems.

Joeckel is without a doubt the top offensive lineman coming out this year, and one could easily make the case that Moore is the best pass-rusher heading to the next level as well.

Alabama, March 13

The two-time reigning BCS national champions will hold their pro day workouts on March 13, where pro scouts and coaches will be able to get a closer look at projected first-round talents like offensive guard Chance Warmack, cornerback Dee Milliner and offensive tackle D.J. Fluker.

Milliner is hands-down the best defensive back coming out this year, while Warmack looks to be the top guard (along with North Carolina's Jonathan Cooper). Meanwhile, Fluker should boost his stock on Alabama's pro day, as he could go anywhere from the mid-first round to the late-first round this April.

Georgia, March 21

The Georgia Bulldogs nearly upset Alabama in the SEC Championship Game last year, pushing the Crimson Tide to the brink before losing late. On March 21, a handful of Georgia's top defenders, including linebackers Alec Ogletree and Jarvis Jones, will showcase their talents.

In a draft that seems to be deep in the defensive front seven, guys like Ogletree and Jones can really improve their draft stock with big pro day performances.

Defensive tackle John Jenkins is another stud to keep an eye out for in Athens, Ga.

LSU, March 27

NFL higher-ups will have to wait until late-March to get a look at some of LSU's top defensive talent during their pro day workouts. Three Tigers stand out in particular in 2013, including dominant defensive ends Barkevious Mingo and Sam Montgomery.

Both have first-round talent, along with linebacker Kevin Minter.

Many draft experts are anticipating defense to rule the first round this year, and that's certainly no surprise given the vast amount of defensive talent coming out of the college ranks this spring, especially from Baton Rouge.
