Jay Cutler Will Bring Chicago To The Top Of The NFL

Shaun LeistikowApr 7, 2009

It's funny how fans can turn quickly against a player because an organization can make the player sound as immature as they want.  McDaniels kept referring to Jay Cutler as "The Player" and says that he didn't hear from Jay Cutler in a month.  However, in that same interview he heard from Jay in a week.

The interview was March 25. I didn't know that 30 days fit in between March 17 and April 2. Crazy how that happens. Now comes the fun part. What is so special about Jay Cutler.

Everyone (Denver fans) keeps saying that Jay Cutler wasn't that special because the team was 2nd in yards but they were 16th in points. Okay, so far he might have trouble in the red zone. Denver was 28th in redzone scoring percent. Okay, you might have something. However, they score more TD's. So points per redzone attempt is my kind of stat. That puts Denver at 20th.

So maybe they struggle, but it's not getting TD. It must be another kind of struggle.  Does it matter if an offensive line is on the field too long that they get tired?  Could it be that Denvers' rushing game sucks.

Oh, I did it. But you all will say that Denvers' team rushing was 12th. However, that was when you had mobile Jay Cutler. You traded him for Orton. That's 150 negative rushing yards against you. That now puts you at 23rd in team rushing. Oh crap! Slapped right across the face.

Okay, so now lets start pointing fingers at things that really should matter to Denver.  They do not have a defense. They're defense allows points and they do not get any turnovers what-so-ever. So the defense doesn't stop offense so Jay Cutler and the Denver offense is forced to play catch up.

Something that won't happen too often, if ever, with Chicago.  Jay Cutler is forced to throw deep and often. Something that won't happen with Chicago.  His interceptions from 18 will drop at least 5 INT. The TD on the other hand is dependent.

The Denver offense under the leadership of Kyle Orton will be forced to throw like he was in Chicago. The defenses will put eight in the box so Denver will no longer be able to run.  Their No. 23 rushing offense will drop even further next year.

The passing game will be a joke because Eddie Royal and Brandon Marshall will be outrunning the balls thrown to them because Orton cannot hit them in stride.  He had a 55 percent completion rate in Chicago. Many were dropped by Rashied Davis, but that's not 5 percent worth. Now when Denver has to throw as often as they did with Cutler, Kyle Orton will be under 55 percent next year.

Chicago won't have to deal with 8 in the box. So now will be able to rush better than they did before. Matt Forte will have a huge year. With the Bears top notch defense and special teams unit Chicago won't have to travel very far to the end zone. That's the only reason Chicago could score before.

Now Chicago will do what they did early in 2006. The opposing teams will be forced to pass and Chicago will be waiting. Chicago got a steal and Denver is going to be a hurting unit as they will probably finish 3-13 while Chicago will be 13-3.
