Mikhail TurnerFeb 11, 2013

Arsenal fans are used to seeing their side linked to big names in every transfer window. This summer will be no different.

The Gunners are in need of strengthening in certain areas if they really want to challenge for the title next season.

Arsene Wenger has actually spent a decent bit of money in the past two seasons to bring in some pretty good players.

Fans will want to see that kind of spending continue and the club to really buy some talent to improve the team for the next season.

Here are the five biggest names linked with a summer move to the Emirates.

TalkSPORT.com reports that Arsenal target Fernando Amorebieta turned down a move to Russia in order to get a move to the Premier League.

Sebastian Squillaci is likely to leave the club this summer and the on-loan Johan Djourou may head out of the Emirates as well.

That would leave Arsenal with three senior central defenders heading into 2013/14.

Amorebieta would provide even more height to Arsenal's defense, and his tough-tackling style of play would make him a good fit for the Premier League.

4. Alain Traore

Burkino Faso and FC Lorient attacker Alain Traore has been linked via the Metro with a move to Arsenal this summer.

Traore is a versatile attacker with bundles of skill and technique.

He currently has six goals and five assists in Ligue 1 while playing in a predominantly central attacking midfield role.

Traore would provide depth for Arsenal in both this central position and out wide on the left in the club's 4-2-3-1 setup.

3. Christian Benteke

According to the Daily Star, Christian Benteke is a possible summer target for Arsenal.

The Belgian has attracted a lot of interest with his form for Aston Villa this season, and the Gunners could face competition from Manchester City and Chelsea.

Benteke would bring a lot of power to Arsenal's front line, and his 15 goals and eight assists in 28 games show how effective he can be in scoring and creating goals.

2. Etienne Capoue

Etienne Capoue has been linked via the Telegraph with a move to Arsenal.

The Gunners currently have only Abou Diaby as a solid physical presence in midfield, but he has constant injury problems

Capoue would provide the club with another player to bring power to the Arsenal midfield, and that will definitely come in handy in the Premier League.

1. Stevan Jovetic

5 of 5

According to the Mirror, Arsenal has made Stevan Jovetic its primary target for the summer.

While the Gunners currently have three options to play in the forward role, two of them, Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski, play out wide.

Jovetic would provide the Gunners with a stellar creative option with solid goal-scoring ability as well.

Jovetic could play in behind the forward in the Gunners' 4-2-3-1 or lead the line on his own.
