Florida State Football Recruiting: Meet Seminoles' 2013 Recruiting Class

If the Florida State Seminoles want to remain one of the elite programs in college football, recruiting at an elite level is a must.

Jimbo Fisher and his staff are well on their way to doing just that in regards to the 2013 recruiting cycle.

The Seminoles' 2013 class is setting up to be very good, and that includes what looks to be a strong push to national signing day.

The future of Florida State football is bright, and these recruits will be a big part of that.

Bryant is a major defensive tackle recruit, and he has incredible potential at 6'1.5'' 302 pounds coming out of high school. He has great size and quickness, and he'll be a huge commitment for whichever program he ends up with.

Analysis

Jalen Ramsey represents a huge flip for Florida State. Jimbo Fisher and his staff were able to get him to decommit from USC's class, and Ramsey is now committed to play football for the Seminoles. Ramsey has great size and elite speed as a corner. He's ranked as the No. 2 overall player at the position, according to the 247Sports Composite. He has superstar potential, and he's a marquee recruit for Florida State.

Richy Klepal is a big offensive tackle recruit at 6'4'', 283 pounds. He's an in-state recruit, and Florida State is listed as the favorite on his 247Sports interest list. Klepal has some big-time offers on the board, so he'll be a nice recruit to land. Klepal will not play for the Noles due to concussion issues.

Analysis:

DeMarcus Walker is arguably the marquee recruit of Fisher's 2013 class. The Seminoles were able to flip him from Alabama, which is huge, but he also has incredible potential. He has great size and runs a 4.60, according to 247Sports, so he could end up being an elite pass-rusher for the Seminoles. FSU is pretty set at defensive end, but look for Walker to get plenty of reps as a freshman.

Freddie Stevenson

Stevenson has the potential to be a big-time recruit for the Seminoles. He has great size at 6'1'', 220 pounds, and he'll benefit from enrolling early. He'll most likely be a good special teams player right away, but he could also work himself into a solid backup role behind Telvin Smith or Terrance Smith.

Ryan Green

Green should be a solid No. 3 behind James Wilder and Devonta Freeman, and he may even be able to work himself into a complementary No. 2 back role as a freshman.

He'll be an important sub behind Josue Matias and Tre' Jackson, and he even may want to take a redshirt season to gain that extra year of eligibility.

His combination of size and speed should make him a legitimate deep threat, and I expect he'll work his way into the rotation at wideout as a freshman.

Holding on to Levenberry's commitment was huge for Florida State, especially with Tennessee making a strong late push. He's an elite linebacker recruit, ranked as the No. 6 inside linebacker, according to the 247Sports Composite. Look for Levenberry to compete right away for time at inside linebacker.

Analysis:

Whitfield is another wideout recruit who can come in and make an impact right away on Florida State's offense. He's not big, but he has tremendous speed. He'll be able to really stretch defenses vertically, so look for him to see the field early on as a freshman.

Marquez White

Analysis:

Jesus Wilson will end up being an important addition to the depth chart for Florida State. Christian Green, Willie Haulstead and Kelvin Benjamin should all be ahead of Wilson on the depth chart, plus the aforementioned Whitfield and Jones. In time, though, Wilson could be a productive wideout for the Seminoles.

South Carolina made a strong push for Lyons, but it looks as if he'll remain committed to the Seminoles. Overall, he has great potential to be a difference-maker in a season or two.

Ryan Hoefeld is a very big commitment for Florida State. He's an important recruit from the state of Louisiana, and he's also the No. 12 ranked center in the 2013 class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Once Bryan Stork and Austin Barron both move on from Florida State, look for Hoefeld to take over at center. Considering the depth at the position, he may be a great candidate for a redshirt.

Getting Andrews to flip his commitment from Minnesota so close to signing day was a big win for the Seminoles. Andrews is also the No. 23 ranked player from the state of Alabama (247Sports Composite), so he's a very important commitment.

John Franklin is a talented dual-threat quarterback recruit with great speed. Jameis Winston will be a competitor for the staring job next season with Clint Trickett and Jacob Coker. Winston should win that starting spot, which means Franklin would be best served taking a redshirt year or moving to wideout, where he can utilize his speed.

Desmond Hollin
