USC Football Recruiting: Meet All 2013 Commits

Andrew KulhaJun 8, 2018

Lane Kiffin and the USC Trojans boast one of the best recruiting classes in the nation, per usual.

Despite the up-and-down ride on the recruiting trail this cycle, USC will still come away with an elite class. Kiffin and his staff were able to land a handful of 5-star recruits, and they are all players with superstar potential in the near future.

Overall, this class is very formidable, and the future of USC football is very bright because of that.

Note: All information via 247Sports, ESPN Recruiting Nation or Scout.com unless otherwise noted. Star rankings courtesy of the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Quinton Powell

Star Ranking: 4-star

High School: Mainland High School (Fla.)

Senior Stats: N/A

Other Finalists: Florida, Arkansas, Miami, South Carolina

Commit Date: 2/6, 9:15 AM ET

Analysis

Quinton Powell is a former Florida commitment, but USC won out in the end. He has good size and great speed and is ranked as the No. 14 outside linebacker in the 2013 class (via 247Sports). It is a big pickup for Kiffin and his staff.

Kenny Bigelow

2 of 12
Height: 6'3''

Weight: 297 lbs

Position: DT

Stars: 5-star

School: Eastern Christian Academy (Md.)

Senior Stats: N/A

Other Finalists: N/A

Commit Date: Nov. 30, 2011, Early Enrollee

Analysis

Kenny Bigelow is going to be a star defensive tackle for USC. He has good size and great agility and is good in pursuit. He's ranked as the No. 2 overall defensive tackle, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.

As talented as he is, Bigelow projects to be a sub as a freshman. He'll be behind Leonard Williams, but he should still get a lot of playing time.

Su'a Cravens

3 of 12
Height: 6'1''

Weight: 205 lbs

Position: S

Stars: 5-star

School: Vista Murrieta High School (Calif.)

Senior Stats: N/A

Other Finalists: Michigan, Alabama

Commit Date: June 6, 2012, Early Enrollee

Analysis

Su'a Cravens is going to see the field a lot as a freshman. He's an elite safety recruit with a good combination of size and speed. He runs a 4.50 40, according to 247Sports.

If Dion Bailey moves to safety, look for Cravens to be his immediate backup. Truthfully, he can probably back up both safety spots, so look for him to get a ton of playing time as a sub in year one. Eventually, he''ll be the starter and a star.

Other Finalists: Oklahoma

Commit Date: April 4, 2012, Early Enrollee

Analysis

Max Browne is the quarterback of the future for USC. Whether or not he takes a redshirt in year one is up for debate, but eventually, he will be the starter for the Trojans.

He has great size, a strong arm and elite accuracy. He's also very good moving around the pocket and extending the play with his feet.

If he doesn't redshirt, look for Browne to challenge Max Wittek and Cody Kessler from day one.

Stars: 5-star

Stars: 4-star

School: Joliet Catholic Academy (Ill.)

Senior Stats: 1,500 yards, 22 touchdowns

Other Finalists: Notre Dame

Commit Date: May 15, 2012

Analysis

In time, Ty Isaac has the potential to be the next great USC running back. He has great size at 6'2'', 215 pounds, so he'll be able to run strong between the tackles, but he also has good speed.

He'll be behind Silas Redd and Tre Madden as a third option, but he should compete for the starting job once Redd moves on.

Chris Hawkins

Stars: 4-star

School: Rancho Cucamonga High School (Calif.)

Khaliel Rodgers

8 of 12

Position: WR

Stars: 4-star

School: Bishop Alemany High School (Calif.)

Senior Stats: N/A

Other Finalists: N/A

Commit Date: June 10, 2012

Analysis

Steven Mitchell will see the field as a freshman. He'll be an important backup behind Marqise Lee and Nelson Agholor, and he'll compete for that No. 3 spot on the depth chart. He's the No. 8 receiver in the 2013 class, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.

Justin Davis

10 of 12
Height: 6'1''

Weight: 195 lbs

Position: RB

Stars: 4-star

School: Lincoln High School (Calif.)

Senior Stats: 1,806 yards, 23 touchdowns

Other Finalists: Michigan, Oklahoma, Notre Dame

Commit Date: May 17, 2012, Early Enrollee

Analysis

Justin Davis represents a big in-state pickup for USC. In time, he can be an important part of the rotation at running back for the Trojans.

He's the No. 10-ranked player from the state of California and the No. 9 running back—both according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

A redshirt year could be a good option for him.

Michael Hutchings

11 of 12
Height: 6'2''

Weight: 215 lbs

Position: OLB

Stars: 4-star

School: De La Salle High School (Calif.)

Senior Stats: 113 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 3 interceptions, 1 forced fumbles

Other Finalists: Washington

Commit Date: July 1, 2012

Analysis

Michael Hutchings is a very good outside linebacker recruit who can make an impact right away for USC. Look for him to be a star special teams player as a freshman. But he should also be able to work himself into the rotation behind either Hayes Pullard or Anthony Sarao.

Hutchings is the No. 10 outside linebacker in the 2013 class, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.

Nico Falah

12 of 12
Height: 6'5''

Weight: 270 lbs

Position: OT

Stars: 4-star

School: St. John Bosco High School (Calif.)

Senior Stats: N/A

Other Finalists: Washington, Oregon

Commit Date: July 11, 2012

Analysis

Holding onto Nico Falah's commitment is huge for USC. He's ranked as the No. 15 offensive tackle in the 2013 class, and he has great potential.

Washington and Oregon made a late push for Falah, but in the end, it looks like he'll stick with the Trojans.
