Georgia Football Recruiting: Meet Bulldogs' 2013 Recruiting Class

Andrew KulhaJun 3, 2018

The Georgia Bulldogs' 2013 class has the potential to be very good.

Mark Rich and his staff went out and landed a lot of recruits, and many of them will play a huge role in both the short- and long-term future of Georgia football.

The Bulldogs were able to add a few star recruits who will contribute right away, but Richt also did a great job of filling out the depth chart and taking care of some long-term needs.

Overall, this class is extremely strong, and Georgia fans have plenty to be excited about.

Let's get to know Georgia's 2013 recruiting class.

With Aaron Murray coming back for his senior season, there's really no need to rush Ramsey into the fold. Ramsey is the No. 6 pro-style quarterback in the 2013 class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Other Finalists: Stanford, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt

Commit Date: 4/9/12, Enrolled: 1/4/13

Analysis

J.J. Green projects to be a very productive cornerback for Georgia in time, and much of that has to do with his speed. He's only 5'9'', 175 pounds, but he runs a 4.40, according to 247Sports. He'll be good on special teams as a freshman, and in time he could end up being a very good nickel corner for the Bulldogs.

Analysis

Chris Mayes is an absolutely huge recruit at 6'4'', 330 pounds ,and he fits the 3-4 system perfectly. He's ranked as a strong side defensive end, but at 330 lbs., chances are Georgia will look to move him inside to the 0-technique. He'll be a big two-gap defender in the middle, and he should be a good backup. There's also the option of having him drop some weight and play defensive end, where he would be strong against the run.

Quincy Mauger

15 of 32
Height: 6'0''

Weight: 195 lbs.

Position: S

Star Ranking: 3-Star

High School: Kell High School (GA)

Analysis:

Jordan Davis has great potential as a tight end, and he's coming in with good size at 6'4'', 230 pounds. Arthur Lynch should be the starter with Jay Rome and his backup. Davis can try to see the field as the No. 3 tight end, or he may want to take a redshirt. In time, he'll be a good option.
