WWE: John Cena Can Only Face the Rock at WrestleMania 29

The Rock versus John Cena at WrestleMania 28 was billed as a "once in a lifetime" event. Now it looks like we may get a second chance to witness a "once in a lifetime" event.

The night after The Rock defeated John Cena at WrestleMania 28, he came on Raw and announced his desires to once again be the WWE champion. Then on the 1,000th episode of Raw, The Rock said he will compete for the WWE championship at the Royal Rumble.

One would think that the only way The Rock can hold the WWE championship is if he takes time off from his busy acting schedule and becomes a full-time Superstar for a little while. How could the WWE allow its champion to never show up with the belt on Raw?

The WWE announced The Rock's expected TV appearance schedule, and it looks the WWE Universe will be getting electrified a lot.

The Rock's busy WWE schedule suggests that he will appear enough to be a credible WWE champion. Not that he needed any credibility, he is one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time.

According to F4Online via Wrestling Inc., the current plans are for The Rock to win the belt from CM Punk.

While nothing is ever set in stone in WWE, I expect The Rock to beat Punk at the Royal Rumble. Because if the Rock is ever going to be WWE champion, a reign from the Royal Rumble to WrestleMania 29 is a good amount of time for it.

The Rock will hold the WWE championship during the most exciting time in professional wrestling (the road to WrestleMania). This will generate excitement and high ratings for WWE.

However, since The Rock is not going to be a full-time WWE Superstar forever, he will probably go on to drop the belt at WrestleMania. The person that will win the championship from him, is Cena.

Like it or not, Cena is the face of WWE. Which means he will be in one of the top matches at WrestleMania. He also will be WWE champion again.

But because of the loss to The Rock at WrestleMania 28 and the struggles he has had this year, Cena is in a position that he can't lose at WrestleMania 29. That means Cena can't face The Undertaker because, simply, Taker doesn't lose at WrestleMania.

Cena also won't be facing Brock Lesnar because WWE has been there and done that. 

That leaves Cena to face The Rock again at WrestleMania. This will be the perfect scenario and cover all areas WWE needs to cover.

Here is the checklist

• The Rock gets another WWE title run...check.
• The Rock helps generate buzz during the "Road to WrestleMania"...check.
• Huge headline match at WrestleMania 29...check.
• John Cena wins at WrestleMania...check.
• John Cena is WWE champion again...check.

When it comes down to it, The Rock versus Cena at WrestleMania 29 makes perfect sense. This also leaves the door open for Cena vs. Rock part three.
