Waiting on Matt Wieters
Against the passions of eager fans, and our classic clash with better judgment, the Baltimore Oriolesโ decision to send Matt Wieters to Triple-A Norfolk is a good one. The Orioles are taking their time with a player who has already shown flashes of greatness in the Grapefruit league, and honestly, for as bad as the Oriolesโ pitching is, whatโs a few more weeks or months before adding another offensive piece?
The Baltimore Orioles have the look of a team that will score six or seven runs easily this season, but will have no problem surrendering nine or ten runs to opponents. They wonโt last three months in the A.L. East. And bless Andy MacPhailโs heart for assessing this correctly, because when the future does get here hitting and pitching wise, no one will be able to say that the club rushed it in.

Seriously, what's another few months of mediocrity going to hurt? If anything, the tickets to Camden will be that much affordable when Wieters gets here and the Orioles are 11 games back.
Itโs a win-win for everybody, even if it directly results in another losing start for the club.
