Weekly Power Rankings: Top 10 WWE Superstars
As you may or may not know, the WWE has power rankings which rank the top 25 WWE superstars of the week.
I decided I would take that idea and create power rankings for the top 10 WWE superstars here on Bleacher Report. The superstars will be ranked by their recent activity and the impact they are having on the company.
This is the first week of the rankings and here are the top 10 WWE superstars right now.
10. The Shield
1 of 10The Shield is a group made up of NXT standouts Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. They have been causing chaos each week on Raw and have made a significant statement so far.
The Shield's three appearances on Monday Night Raw have pushed them all the way into the top 10.
The excitement of their stable is due to the apparent relationship they have with CM Punk and the mystery of when they will strike next.
9. Dolph Ziggler
2 of 10In one way, being in the main event is important for a WWE Superstar. In another way, a losing streak is just as significant.
That is what Dolph Ziggler has run into.
His current feud with John Cena has pushed him back into the main card. But like the last time he was here (his feud with CM Punk from a year ago), Ziggler can't buy a win.
If Ziggler ever wants to truly move into the next level, he needs to collect some W's when he feuds with the top superstars.
Ziggler's place in the main-event picture, despite the fact that he continues to lose, gets him the No. 9 spot in the top 10.
8. Team Hell No
3 of 10They may be dysfunctional, but Team Hell No has continued to thrive together.
After a win on SmackDown, Team Hell No defeated Titus O'Neil and Darren Young in a tag team match. Right after the match they were attacked by The Shield.
Kane and Daniel Bryan got some payback later in the night as they came out and fought The Shield with the help of Ryback.
7. Kofi Kingston
4 of 10Kofi Kingston is crucial to the WWE's mid-card. He has been as consistent a WWE superstar as anyone over the last few years.
Kingston is the Intercontinental Champion, a title well-deserved. Last week he had a win over Tensai and a tag team victory over Wade Barrett and the Prime Time Players.
He did suffer a loss in a four-way match on Raw, but Kingston still remains in the top 10 power rankings.
6. Randy Orton
5 of 10Randy Orton continues to have success and sits at the cusp of the power ranking's top five.
Orton defeated Brad Maddox in a singles match on Raw.
It is unclear what Randy Orton will be doing at TLC, but he may need to jump into the title picture before he can jump into the top five of the power rankings.
5. Ryback
6 of 10A week after Ryback was the victim of a vicious attack by The Shield, he was able to get some payback when he helped Team Hell No against them.
Ryback then went on to put WWE Champion CM Punk through a table.
Ryback was inactive, but he still made an impact, which causes him to be fifth in the power rankings.
4. Big Show
7 of 10Last week, the World heavyweight champion was out of action on Raw, and was then chased out of the ring by John Cena and Sheamus on SmackDown.
Combine last week with a loss in Raw's main event and the Big Show drops down the WWE power rankings.
A World Heavyweight belt is the only thing keeping the Big Show towards the top of the rankings.
A win may be the only thing that keeps him from dropping out of the top five.
3. John Cena
8 of 10It's almost a given that if John Cena is actively competing on Raw, he will be in the top 10 rankings of WWE superstars.
Whether you love him or hate him, Cena has been the staple that has kept the WWE together through its transitions over the last few years.
Cena won another main event match on Raw this week.
While Cena has held the WWE championship for over a year, he still has been able to stay at the very top of the company. I do not see him going anywhere.
2. Sheamus
9 of 10The former World Heavyweight Champion has been on a roll lately. He has defeated every opponent in his path.
Sheamus teamed with John Cena on Raw and earned himself a win over a team that included the Big Show, his TLC opponent.
Sheamus' streak of success has pushed him into the second spot of the power rankings and have me believing he will be the World heavyweight champion again after TLC.
1. CM Punk
10 of 10CM Punk has been the WWE champion for over a year now and he has consistently claimed a spot atop the power rankings of WWE superstars.
His involvement with The Shield has left WWE fans interested and intrigued. The only thing that jeopardizes Punk's spot at No. 1 is the apparent knee injury that he is getting surgery on.
According to wwe.com, Punk is currently undergoing emergency knee surgery and the severity of the injury and the recovery time has yet to be released.
The WWE Universe is praying it does not cause Punk to miss a lot of time, especially TLC.
