Official Grass; What Will They Think of Next?

This one was too good to pass up.

According to John Branch of the NY Times, the company that has provided the sod for Yankee Stadium since 1960 has decided to offically market their dirt as Yankee Stadium Dirt.

“It’s just capitalizing on what we have and what we’ve done,” said Rick DeLea, vice president of DeLea Sod Farms.

“It’s going to be one of those ‘Why didn’t I think of that?’ stories,” said David Andres, the energetic and entrepreneurial man who came up with the idea of selling sod and grass to fans.

Yankee Grass Seed will also be available in three and eight ounce bags.

It all makes you wonder what they’ll sell next. My guess is Yankee Stadium officially licenced plastic from the company that makes the seats.
