Fantasy Football Week 10: Top Sleepers by Position

Michael PizzutilloJun 7, 2018

Fantasy football sleeper players can make or break your week. There are some great sleepers with potential to help your team in Week 10. If you need a bye-week replacement or an last minute injury fill-in, these players could help win your fantasy football week.

No difference if your record is 8-1 and atop your league or 5-4 and making a playoff push—sleepers can determine your fate.

Here are the Week 10 fantasy football sleepers who could put your team on the winning edge.

QB Russell Wilson SEA

1 of 6

Russell Wilson still has much to prove in the NFL, but here are some reasons why the rookie could help your fantasy team this week:

1. Wilson and the Seahawks are undefeated at home. Seattle is a tough place for opponents, and the home team thrives off the crowd's electricity.

2. Building off the home-field advantage, Wilson averages over two throwing touchdowns and zero interceptions when playing in Seattle.

3. He not only could beat the Jets defense through the air, but also in the running game. He may very well resort to scrambling, as the Jets rank sixth in pass defense. Look for a nice sneak near the end zone.

RB Chris Ivory NO

2 of 6

Is Chris Ivory back? In his first action this season, Ivory made the most of his playing time against the Eagles. He could very well repeat another sleeper performance.

1. Darren Sproles will be out for the second straight game, and the Saints will be using a running back by committee. This is usually a red flag in fantasy football, but Ivory has the potential for a decent stat line this week.

2. The Saints are a pass-heavy offense, and this will not change against Atlanta, but the Saints must run the ball effectively to hang with the undefeated Falcons.

3. Ivory was a touchdown hawk and had a number of carries towards the end of the 2010 season. He should see touches near the goal line and should receive a majority of the touches if he out-performs Pierre Thomas and Mark Ingram for the second time.

WR Kendall Wright TEN

3 of 6

Kendall Wright seems to have shaken off his elbow injury and appears be ready against the Dolphins this week.

1. The Titans travel to Miami this week, which could end in a shootout. Miami is ranked 30th in pass defense, while the Titans are ranked 27th.

2. Jack Locker should be returning this week and will hopefully continue the great chemistry with his rookie wide out.

3. Wright has been targeted 67 times this season—not bad for a third receiver. He could fit nicely as a flex option on your fantasy team.

TE Brandon Pettigrew DET

4 of 6

Brandon Pettigrew has been a fantasy disappointment this season. He may never be an elite tight end, but could fill in nicely as a bye week replacement.

1. Pettigrew does posses the talent to be a starting fantasy football tight end and should be a safety valve for Matthew Stafford this week.

2. In his first meeting with the Vikings this season, Pettigrew was targeted nine times, ending with seven receptions.

3. The Lions should be pass-heavy against the Vikings defense. Look for a lot of block and release patterns as well as goal-line targets for the big man.

K Blair Walsh MIN

5 of 6

Kickers often determine the outcome of NFL games. Week to week, the same can be said for fantasy football matchups.

Blair Walsh could be a decent option for your team in Week 10.

1. He plays in a dome.

2. Walsh has made all six attempts on 50-plus-yard field goals this season.

3. Minnesota/Detroit is always a tough rival game. This could end up being high-scoring affair with a number of field-goal attempts from both teams.

4. He plays in a dome.

DST Cowboys

6 of 6

It's hard to believe the Cowboys are a sleeper defense. They are a top-tier NFL defense this season, but not many fantasy owners carry it on their team. This week, it could make a difference.

1. The Cowboys travel to Philadelphia in a battle for the "toilet bowl." Their rivalry and hatred will make for an entertaining game, as both teams will rely on defense to win.

2. Michael Vick has committed 14 turnovers this season. The Eagles offense is in shambles, and the Cowboys could pounce on his costly mistakes.

3. The Eagles offensive line is full of injuries and having a difficult time protecting its QB. Vick has been sacked 27 times this season. Expect DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer to feast on Vick this game.
