Felix Jones: Fantasy Owners Should Keep Cowboys RB on Bench After Poor Week 8
Felix Jones was a hot commodity on the waiver wire once DeMarco Murray went down. At this point, however, he might not even be worthy on staying on your roster.
The Dallas Cowboys running back is coming off a terrible performance last week against the New York Giants. Although he was able to get a 4-yard touchdown, Jones finished with only 19 yards on 13 carries.
He also lost a fumble and was unable to get any yards through the air.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
One would think that this type of performance would be due to a tough defense. However, the Giants are only No. 19 in the NFL against the rush and allow a fifth-highest 4.6 yards per carry.
Another caveat could be that the Cowboys abandoned the run after falling behind 23-0. Unfortunately, this has been a theme all year long. Only six teams in the NFL have run the ball less often than Dallas this year.
It seems the performance that took place in Week 8 is very indicative of what Jones will be in the future.
In fact, the only fluke was the fact that Jones was able to get into the end zone. In his five-year career, the running back has only managed to get 10 touchdowns. During his best year in 2010 where he finished with 800 rushing yards, Jones only scored one touchdown.
That season, he was the only person among the top 48 rushers that had fewer than two touchdowns.
Going forward, the lack of scores will probably continue. When the Cowboys had a chance to get into the end zone late in the game against the Giants, Phillip Tanner was the one who had two carries from the 1-yard line.
To make matters worse, according to Executive Vice President Stephen Jones (via Dallas Morning News), "he's not healthy."
He is dealing with a bruised knee and bruised shoulder and is not able to play to his full ability. By the time he is better, Murray will likely be able to return to the starting lineup.
Despite the fact that Felix Jones is a starting running back for a productive offense, he is not a useful fantasy player. He should stay away from your fantasy lineup for the near future and most likely for the rest of the season.
