This was Sabathia’s second start of the spring, and he simply didn’t have it. CC didn’t get through the second inning, as he allowed five runs on six hits.

Alfredo Aceves came on in relief to pitch 3.1 innings. He gave up three hits and two runs. Bruney, Veras, and Melancon all put up a scoreless frame.

Jorge Posada picked up an RBI pass in the 2nd inning. Kevin Cash picked up an RBI single, and Nick Swisher hit a sac fly to bring home the fourth run.
