Justin Verlander and Kate Upton Rumors Finally Have Statement from Grandpa

After months of waiting, Justin Verlander's grandfather weighed in on the ongoing Kate Upton dating rumors. 

CeleBuzz (h/t Sportress of Blogitude) did what they do so well and got some buzz going about a couple celebrities, all thanks to a grandfather who is adorably supportive of his grandson. 

The gossip site managed to get a word from a family member on what might be the worst kept secret in dating history.

I heard he has been on dates with a Sports Illustrated girl. I saw a photo — she’s beautiful.

They make a good looking pair because he’s a good looking man too. I do know he’s on the dating scene. Justin is a fine boy and whoever he ends up with is lucky. He’s not only a great baseball player, he’s a great guy.

OK, that's it. Someone is going to hug a random elderly gentleman today, and that person is me. You can vividly see this kind man gabbing about his grandson who is dating pretty much the hottest woman in the world. 

Beaming doesn't begin to describe what the smile on his face must have looked like. 

Of course, if this were high school—and we were trying to decipher who was dating who—there would be no question about the Verlander-Upton pairing.

They are totes dating. 

As the report reminds us, rumors of the two have been ongoing since July. The most recent was a report from Busted Coverage last month. 

The website asserted the model and ace pitcher were spotted during a daytime stroll along Michigan Avenue. 

While there is no official word from the two, there is plenty of smoke to believe there is a great deal of relationship fire. 

Not that this matters, because I want to hear more from granddad, on pretty much any subject.
