Marlins Owner Jeffrey Loria Reportedly Upset with Ozzie Guillen After Comments
Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen is a walking sound bite, and he's opened his mouth yet again.
This time, he's reportedly angered Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria. According to The Palm Beach Post reporter Joe Capozzi, Loria is angry at Guillen for making a few critical remarks regarding him as an owner.
Here's an example from Guillen's talk with reporters on Friday:

"If Jeffrey doesn’t think I’m doing the job I should do … it’s not the first time he’s fired a manager. Look yourself in the mirror and ask why so many (bleeping) managers come through here.
"
It doesn't get much more blunt than that. The Marlins made blockbuster signings this offseason and built a brand-new stadium, but they're still 66-87. No one could be happy with that, and Guillen decided to air out his opinion.
He didn't stop there, either. Guillen also stated last weekend that "when you are in last place you need a better manager, better general manager, better owner, a better everything when you are a last-place team because we all failed.” At least he pulls himself into the conversation with this one.
Capozzi's report holds a few more incendiary statements from the Marlins manager, but they all follow the same general idea. He's come under a lot of fire this season, possibly some of it undeserved. He isn't freeing himself from all blame; he just wants others to fall under the same standard.
Anyone who has paid even the slightest attention to Major League Baseball since Guillen became manager of the Chicago White Sox in 2004 shouldn't be surprised by this. It's easy to assume; if you come after Ozzie, he will fire right back.
Loria has every right to be angry with his manager, but this is what he signed up for. The Marlins carried tremendous expectations into this season. Failing to meet those puts pressure on everyone, and Guillen's reaction is predictable given his history.
Stay tuned for information regarding any possible repercussions.
