NFL Week 3 Predictions: Undefeated Teams That Will Stay Perfect
With Week 3 of NFL football almost upon us, itโs time to analyze the undefeated teams that will stay perfect this Sunday.
Only six teams in the NFL have unblemished records heading into Week 3, but incredibly enough, there are two games this Sunday involving two undefeated squads.
All of the following teams started the season off on the right foot, but will keep their momentum for at least one more week.
The start of the season sets the tone for a teamโs entire year, and these teams will be sending a message in Week 3.
Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles (2-0) at Arizona Cardinals (2-0)
The Philadelphia Eagles could be the luckiest 2-0 team in the NFL, but that must be a sign that luck is on their side in 2012. When the team travels to Arizona to play the Cardinals, though, they will take on the most surprising undefeated team in the NFL.
As great as the Cardinals' win over the New England Patriots was for their teamโs momentum, they will underestimate Philadelphia and overestimate themselves in Week 3. The Eagles will be focused playing on the road and looking to send a message to the NFL.
While Arizonaโs defense will stifle the Eagles throughout the game, the stellar play of Philadelphiaโs defense will keep the matchup close until Michael Vick can make a big play and break the game open. Once that happens, the Eagles are on their way to 3-0.
Prediction: Eagles 24, Cardinals 10
Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Falcons (2-0) at San Diego Chargers (2-0)
Despite both teams in this matchup also being 2-0 so far in 2012, this is a favorable matchup for the Atlanta Falcons. While Atlanta does have to travel to San Diego, the Falcons offense is one of the hottest in the league to start the season.
Philip Rivers and the Chargers will put up a few touchdowns on the flimsy Falcons defense, but it wonโt be enough to match the red-hot Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and Roddy White.
San Diegoโs lack of depth on the offensive side of the ball will finally catch up to them after disguising it against lesser teams like the Raiders and the Titans. Atlanta will win big.
Prediction: Falcons 34, Chargers 20
Houston Texans
Houston Texans (2-0) at Denver Broncos (1-1)
The Atlanta Falconsโ defense built the clear template to beat Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos Monday night, but they almost choked their strong performance away in the fourth quarter.
The Houston Texans won't choke anything away in Week 3.
Houston's defense is much better than Atlantaโs across the board, and they will punish the Broncos Sunday by keeping their foot on the throttle throughout the game.
While Denverโs defense can be just as dangerous as the Texansโ, the offensive weapons in Houston will be able to pick the Broncos defense apart with short passes and the consistent running of Arian Foster and Ben Tate.
Prediction: Texans 27, Broncos 24
