NFL Week 3 Picks: Top Games to Bet against the Spread before the Lines Move

Alex KayJun 7, 2018

Week 3 of the NFL season will begin and end with tough NFC matchups. It starts on Thursday with the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers clashing and concludes with the Green Bay Packers travelling to Seattle to take on the Seahawks.

Between those two contests, there will be plenty of action and point spreads are just starting to be released for the 16 games that will be played in Week 3.

Let’s take a look at some games you must bet on early before the lines move, shifting towards an unfavorable direction and losing their value.

New England Patriots (+3) vs. BALTIMORE RAVENS

The Pats may have lost to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2, but they won’t be as anemic offensively or leaky defensively for the rest of the season.

Baltimore wasn’t able to hold on and beat a turnover-prone Philadelphia Eagles squad that did all they could to give the game to the Ravens.

Expect the Patriots to execute flawlessly on the offensive end and step up to the plate on defense in this contest, resulting in a straight-up win and an easy against-the-spread victory.

San Francisco 49ers (-7) vs. MINNESOTA VIKINGS

The Niners just may be the best team in football, which is why you have to lay this touchdown against a shoddy Vikings squad.

Minnesota has been within three points of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts in back-to-back weeks—two of the worst teams in the NFL. They’ll lose this one big and Christian Ponder will have a hard time figuring out the vaunted 49ers defense.

Grab San Fran early, before the line moves beyond one TD.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (-9) vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The Saints are shockingly 0-2 to open the season, but they’ll turn that around against a pitiful Chiefs squad.

Drew Brees, Jimmy Graham, Marques Colston and the rest of the high-powered offense will have a field day against a banged-up K.C. defense that allowed the Buffalo Bills to shred them in Week 2.

There is no doubt that the Saints will win this by at least two TDs, so get this before the line jumps that high.
