Derek Jeter Rises to the Occasion & Helps Team USA Defeat the Yankees, 6-5
Derek Jeter got a chance to face his own team today, and he rose to the occasion. It was definitely weird to see Derek in a different uniform. Jeter went 2-for-4, with a run and two RBI. He smacked a two-run single up the middle off of Phil Hughes in the top of the third inning.
Phil Hughes gave up two runs, but he looked pretty good overall. He went 2.2 innings, allowing 3H, 2ER, & he struck out 2 batters. He was working on his curveball as well. He threw 41 pitches in total (25 for strikes).

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Phil Coke pitched two-and-one-third innings of scoreless ball, while picking up 2 K’s. Eric Hacker came into the game soon after and he was lit up. He didn’t record an out, while giving up two hits & three earned runs.
Brett Gardner was at it again. He went 3-for-3 on the game. Gardy also stole a base and picked up a run. He is really stealing the show this spring, and I think he is the early favorite to win the job. Melky has his work cut out for him. Jorge Posada and Cody Ransom both went 2-for-3 on the game.
The offense came up short today, but you shouldn’t really be upset. These games shouldn’t upset you, and they really mean absolutely nothing. You can have a great spring spring training, and have a terrible start to the regular season.
You just never know what might happen. As long as everyone is healthy and ready to go come Opening Day..then you should be happy.
