Robert Griffin III: Assessing Redskins QB's Fantasy Value for Week 2 and Beyond
Robert Griffin III exploded onto the fantasy football scene with a virtuoso Week 1 performance against the New Orleans Saints.
The Washington Redskins QB is a legitimate online superstar and someone that must be owned—and started—in all leagues.
While he may not have the same scoring statistics as Week 1 (19-of-26, 320 yards, two touchdowns via the air, nine attempts for 42 yards on the ground) against every opponent, the simple fact that Griffin III has the potential to put up those numbers makes him a worthy starter.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In Week 2, the ‘Skins will be traveling to St. Louis to take on the Rams in the Edward Jones Dome. This is a great matchup for RGIII and his high-powered offense, as the Rams gave up 429 yards and 27 points to the Detroit Lions in the season-opener.
Now, the Rams have arguably a tougher matchup against a QB that can make so much happen with his pinpoint downfield accuracy and insanely quick feet.
Expect the former Heisman Trophy-winner to rack up at least 300 yards through the air with two touchdowns. Griffin III should also be in line for approximately 10 rushes for 60 yards and another score.
However, it’s highly unlikely that the inexperienced signal-caller is as flawless as he was against the Saints.
Expect the Rams D—a group that forced Matt Stafford to throw three picks—to bait RGIII into at least two interceptions in the contest.
Regardless of these minor mistakes, that still translates to a monster day for RGIII in fantasy.
That production should be expected every Sunday from the Washington QB. The former Baylor star will benefit from being a rookie with a highly unique skill set.
Cam Newton put up a historical rookie campaign in 2011 and teams are still trying to figure out how to contain the tank of a quarterback.
With that happening, expect Griffin to continue confuddling defensive players and coordinators around the league on his way to massive fantasy points.
Value Griffin III as a high-end QB1 in all leagues when picking a week-to-week starter or evaluating a potential trade. Consider him nearly untouchable in keeper leagues, as well.
RGIII is the real deal and may end up being one of the best fantasy players of 2012
