TNA: Should Impact! Wrestling Continue to Air Live?

With TNA's biggest pay-per-view of the year arriving in just a few weeks, should the company continue to air Impact! Wrestling live after Bound For Glory?

Since joining TNA in 2010, it appears the Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff era is finally paying off after two years of presenting a questionable product to viewers. After much disappointments and creative flaws, Impact! Wrestling has drastically improved since going live in late-May of this year with consistent story lines and improved wrestling matches.   

The biggest question that remains for TNA is whether Impact! Wrestling will continue airing live or resort back to a taped format. After seeing consistently quality episodes throughout the summer, TNA is on the right path to where it needs to be as a company.

Despite stiff television competition on Thursday nights, Impact! Wrestling needs to concentrate on its own product and remain live. No matter if Impact! Wrestling suffers from low viewership in the future due to tough competition on Thursday nights, TNA has all the makings to take a step further by having its flagship show remain live.

If TNA goes back to a taped format, should Impact! Wrestling go outside the Impact! Zone?

One of the things I have applauded TNA for doing in the past was taking its flagship show outside the Impact! Zone and into arenas. With a talented wrestling roster and improved show, TNA has the ability to sell out an arena of its choice. 

However, this is not inexpensive for TNA to do, as taking Impact! Wrestling on the road could be costly. The struggle to sell tickets could mean that TNA is just not at that level to go on the road more consistently. Although it would be intriguing for TNA to leave the Impact! Zone more often, the company must focus on its studio product before debating whether to take the next step.  

Would Impact! Wrestling staying live see its benefits in the future?

A major issue that TNA needed to address was gaining back trust from wrestling fans. After months of solid programming, Impact! Wrestling has become exciting to watch. Although no show is perfect, TNA has been able to put trust back into its product. 

Staying live could see benefits in the future. With continuing to air live, Impact! Wrestling remains unpredictable. Resorting back to a taped format takes all of that unpredictability away. Remaining live would be TNA's best chance to get Impact! Wrestling on the map.
