Tim Tebow: 'Faces of Tebow' Segment Continues Overblown Hype Surrounding Backup
NFL Films is going to provide us all an intimate look into one of the league's backup QBs, Tim Tebow. This way, the public can get to know some of the lesser-used players in the NFL.
Oh, you already have heard of the New York Jets' Tim Tebow? And you know things like his style of play, the fact that he throws about as accurately as a rookie Rick Ankiel making a playoff start, his religious beliefs, his astrological sign and what he likes to eat for breakfast?
Given this over-saturation of information on a backup quarterback, it would be logical to assume that there is not much of a need for this edition of the NFL Channel's popular series, A Football Life.

However, this isn't about logic—it is about money, and ratings equal money.
Tebow fever is nowhere near the level it was last year, when the QB was pulling off improbable comeback after improbable comeback with the Denver Broncos, but Tebow still moves the sports needle.
ESPN continues their fascination with him, the NFL Channel obviously is, and apparently I am too, as is evident by this article.
That doesn't mean it isn't silly.
The last A Football Life was about Mr. Raider, Al Davis, and previous versions have focused on other greats of the game like Walter Payton and Tom Landry.
Now we are getting an edition about a player still trying define his role in the NFL.
At some point, hopefully the hype and interest surrounding Tim Tebow will subside, but that point certainly hasn't arrived yet.
