Everton Transfer Speculation: 5 Clubs That Might Come for Fellaini in January

0 of 5

There are a number of clubs who could make a move for Marouane Fellaini when the January transfer window comes around.

This list is about pure speculation and not rumours concerning the player. Some of the clubs could have been linked to Fellaini in the past, but that's not what we're concerned with here.

This doesn't mean these clubs are interested right now, but they could very well be linked to the player come January. It also doesn't mean that these could be the only clubs interested in the player.

Fellaini would be an ideal option for a club looking to strengthen its midfield during the middle of the season, as he would be able to help teams in domestic competitions and also if they are involved in European play.

Here are five clubs who could come for Marouane Fellaini in January.

With both Michael Essien and Raul Meireles gone, Chelsea is short of options in the midfield area.

They especially need a player capable of playing in front of the defense, as injuries to the likes of Frank Lampard or John Obi Mikel would cause severe problems for the club.

Fellaini is a player capable of filling into that position and his versatility would come in handy in other positions as well.

Should the Blues have injury troubles further forward, Fellaini could play in the role behind the forward and provide an attacking threat different from any other player currently in the squad.

Manchester United

Manchester United is another Premier League team who could make a move for the player in January.

While United doesn't have quite the same lack of midfield depth as Chelsea, the defeat to Everton, mainly due to how Fellaini dominated, showed them the type of powerful player they were lacking in midfield.

With players like Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs on their last legs and the constant questions concerning the form of Anderson, Fellaini could be a mid-season arrival who strengthens the clubs position in the league and helps them make a long run in Europe.

Paris Saint-Germain

Considering their spending spree over the last two years, Paris Saint-Germain might as well be thrown into the mix when it concerns the speculative move of a top player.

PSG does have plenty of talent in midfield, but they could move players around who don't perform if they feel Marouane Fellaini would provide something better.

While the club has a variety of options in midfield that might make a move unlikely, if Fellaini continues his form, it is very possible that PSG will end up in the conversation for his signature.

Real Madrid

Adding one more midfielder wouldn't be a bad thing for Real Madrid. The club still wants to get rid of Kaka and that could happen in January.

The addition of Marouane Fellaini would provide the club with a versatile midfielder capable of filling all three central midfield positions and, if a scenario calls for it, give the club a target man different from the likes of Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain.

Anzhi Makhachkala

Anzhi Makhachkala would be an intriguing option for Marouane Fellaini. Just like PSG, Anzhi Makhachkala has been trying to get its hands on a lot of good players and Fellaini could just attract the attention of manager Guus Hiddink.

Fellaini would be the club's best midfielder if he were to join and would be part of a club striving for yearly Champions League football.
