WWE: Having CM Punk and Paul Heyman Together Could Be Win-Win Situation

Daniel PeragineJun 7, 2018

Forget Brock Lesnar.

After Lesnar was left off WWE television in recent weeks, it appears that his manager, Paul Heyman, has found a new client. That client is none other than CM Punk.

On the Monday, September 3 edition of Monday Night Raw, Heyman returned to WWE by making an unexpected appearance at the end of the show. Punk, who attacked John Cena during the closing moments of Raw, was shown driving away with Heyman.

Would a team between Punk and Heyman work for WWE?

Punk truly shined as a heel during his hometown return to Chicago Monday night. The WWE Champion walked out on his match against Sheamus, returned later Monday night to attack Cena backstage, then drove off with Heyman. His actions in recent weeks have helped him grow into a dangerous heel character, something in which the WWE needs.

Putting together Punk and Heyman is one of WWE's smartest moves in 2012. After all, Punk needs a person like Heyman to be his potential manager. Heyman did a terrific job in building up Lesnar. He could certainly do the same with Punk.

Punk has built the seeds to create a long run as a heel. He shockingly turned on wrestling fans when he attacked The Rock in the middle of the ring on the 1,000th edition of Raw. Punk also began demanding respect in the WWE locker room, took Jerry Lawler out of action by his attacks and walked out of a potential great match with Sheamus in front of his hometown.

Adding Heyman to the mix gives Punk a well-known manager to work with. Heyman also gives Punk a powerful speaker by his side and a figure who has plenty of history in the professional wrestling business.

For the WWE, having Heyman team with Punk could see great benefits going forward. Heyman could be that missing piece to complete the puzzle on Punk's quest as being the best heel in wrestling.
