Liverpool vs. Arsenal Reaction: Wenger Hails Team Performance After Win
With his side's season finally off and running, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was quick to praise his team after their 2-0 victory over Liverpool and Anfield.
"The sharpness gets better from game to game but overall we looked solid and scored two goals," Wenger said (via BBC).
"We missed opportunities on the counter-attack at the start of the game but we had a convincing team performance."

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers bemoaned bad luck as the key reason for the defeat:
"I can't fault the players, they have given everything but we have things to work on, needing to keep the ball better and Arsenal did that well in the final period. Giving the ball away has nothing to do with the style of play."
Goals from new signings Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla either side of the half proved enough for Arsenal's first three points of the season, having drawn their first two games 0-0.
Arsenal's central midfielder Abou Diaby was also impressive in the win. After the game he revealed his delight to return to first team action to waiting reporters:
"It means a lot to me because I really want to play football, this year I am back and I hope to stay like this until the end of the season."
Although Liverpool had plenty of possession, the Gunners were able to make the most of their opportunities. Fans on twitter were quick to note the improved finishing of the Gunners:
"Liverpool's performance hasn't been bad, but mistakes have cost them and Arsenal have the quality to punish the slightest error #bbcfootball

"Great buildup, excellent passing and fully deserved 2nd goal. Poor from Reina - should do much better. Anfield silenced. #bbcfootball

Whilst away support at Anfield didn't hesitate to take the opportunity to have a shot at their struggling neighbours:
"Arsenal fans going through the full range of taunts directed at Liverpool: "You're The Spurs Of Merseyside." #bbcfootball

It seems all of a sudden, the Arsenal faithful have found their voice.
