New York Yankees' Spring Training: Grading the Fourth Game
The New York Yankees lost to the Minnesota Twins by a score of 7-3. I’m not grading the younger players because like some baseball fans have said on this site and the bleacher report, you can’t grade younger players because some of them won’t be on the opening day roster.
A+ Jose Veras
Jose Veras only pitched one inning but made the most of it. He gave up no runs, no hits and struck out two batters. Veras will be a big part of the Yankee bull pen this year.

10 Scorching MLB Takes 🌶️

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
A Kei Igawa
Kei Igawa pitched two scoreless innings giving up one hit while striking out one batter. Good performance from him.
A- Derek Jeter
Jeter went 1 for 2 with one run scored and a RBI. That’s pretty good
B+ Mark Teixeira
Teixeira went 1 for 4 with one run scored and a strikeout. He gets a little higher grade because he caught a bunt attempt for an out.
B Shelley Duncan
Duncan went 2 for 3 with one run scored. He had a good performance.
C Melky Cabrera
The only way it seems for Melky to get a hit is to bunt. He went 1 for 3 with a strikeout.
D Joba Chamberlain
I was listening to the first inning of the game on the radio with my father in his car. While we were driving to Tony’s Hot Dogs In The Park in Newark NJ, my father told me that Joba is just trying to work on his fast ball and get his legs underneath him.
He’s right and that’s why I’m giving Joba a D. He gave up two earned runs on three hits in one inning (it was really a F performance, shhh).
F Dan Giese
Dan gave up four earned runs on four hits while walking one in two innings of work. He also gave up a home run. That warrants an F grade.
