WWE News: Jim Ross Refutes Stone Cold WrestleMania Return 'Total BS'
Take this for what you will, but as most wrestling fans know, Jim Ross and Stone Cold Steve Austin are close friends outside of the business.
So when rumors began to swirl about Austin returning for WrestleMania XXX, Ross decided to put the kibosh on them.
"""4 the anal retentive, this ain't cryptic..@steveaustinbsr has NO plans to have 'one more match' and IF he changes his mind, HE decides.
— Jim Ross (@JRsBBQ) August 21, 2012"

Soon after that statement, a fan tweeted Ross to confirm the rumor, to which he responded "total BS."
"""Total BS. RT @slicedteadotcom: @jrsbbq @steveaustinbsr read today that he will wrestle at 30,won't be ready physically or mentally by 29
— Jim Ross (@JRsBBQ) August 21, 2012"
So there you have it. Apparently, the Internet rumor mill was at it again and several fans, including myself, got caught in the tailspin. Ultimately, I can't fathom Austin attempting "one more match" at age 49. Let's face it, what he gave fans in the 90s and early 2000s will never be duplicated and should not be relived.
In the end, Austin never got his "Swan Song" and there is something to be said for him not trying to do so. Austin knows he has nothing to prove and has done well for himself since his retirement.
Overall, the most fans should expect from "The Texas Rattle-Snake" is a few one-off appearances for old times' sake.
