WWE SummerSlam 2012 Results: Rey Mysterio and Stars That Must Be Pushed
With the 2012 edition of SummerSlam in the books, it’s time for the push toward the next big pay-per-view, Survivor Series.
In that same breath, it’s time for the WWE to give certain stars a major push.
Between their stellar performances Sunday at SummerSlam and their work over the last few months—or in Rey Mysterio’s case, a whole career—WWE should see the error of their ways and push all of the following stars hard.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
The WWE Universe would be happy to see these men standing tall more often.
Antonio Cesaro
According to F4WOnline (via Rajah.com), the fact that the backstage feeling on the star is uncertain proves that this run with the U.S. title will be the most important stretch of his career.
To make this run a success, though, it will be imperative for the company to give the young heel every possible chance to succeed. They can’t give Cesaro a halfhearted push and then not understand why it didn’t work; this has to be memorable.
Whether it’s casting aside the U.S. title and bringing back the European championship, or just an extended feud with a crowd favorite, the WWE must give Swiss star a chance to shine.
Maybe when Chris Jericho comes back, Cesaro will be lucky enough to get the rub from Y2J like Punk, Bryan and Ziggler did.
Daniel Bryan
As much as the WWE Universe loves Daniel Bryan’s character the way it is, he is far more effective as the heel in or around the World title scene. His paranoid persona would fit well with Bryan as a heel champion.
With the lack of care for the World title matches involving Alberto Del Rio and Sheamus, infusing a guy like Bryan back into the mix is the smartest plan for the title and for Bryan’s character.
If the WWE is set on having Sheamus and Del Rio continue, or if there are bigger plans with Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler or Wade Barrett, then let Bryan feud with Randy Orton and make both men relevant again.
Bryan is too good to be a comedy act and not a threat for a title.
Rey Mysterio
After returning from a 60-day suspension, Rey Mysterio has been thrown in meaningless match after meaningless match while he earns the respect of the people he hurt with his positive drug test.
With that said, Mysterio is still one of the top-selling WWE superstars around and is great in the ring. As we saw in his match with The Miz, there doesn’t even have to be a storyline for Mysterio to get the crowd on their feet.
Mysterio has the John Cena ability to get the fans going crazy.
With a ton of marketability left toward children, the WWE realizes the worth of Mysterio and will not let him go long without a big push back to the main event. Even with two strikes, WWE is all about making money.
