Maryland: Fans Give Their All As Terps Fall
Of all the factors you could attribute to Maryland’s home loss to Duke last night, from Greg Paulus channeling Wojo’s floor slapping to the Dave Neal destruction of Nolan Smith, you can't blame any of it on the Terrapin faithful.
Yep, that same crowd that just weeks ago threatened to rattle Greivis Vasquez at home on the free throw line, brought it last night against the Duke Blue Devils.
Maybe it was the floor-storming against North Carolina that got them riled up, but they had no real reason to believe that the Terps had a chance against Duke.

Everybody knows the Terps are good for one good upset a year, and if they do get two, it’s likely not back-to-back.
But I digress, because the Terrapin nation was in full effect.
They brought out the Soulja Boi. They chanted obscenities at Kyle Singler. Scheyerface swept the campus.
And in the end, what most observers believed would come to pass did.
The emotionally-spent, defensively-deficient Terps couldn’t clamp down on the late game shooting of the Blue Devils, and Mike Krzyzewski walked out of College Park with a likely ranking in the top-three next week, and more evidence for the Blue Devils to take a No. 1 seed in the national tournament.
As for the Terps, fans have to pray for a late-season run that will have to revolve around the play of Cliff Tucker and Landon Milbourne to have any chance of success.
Coaches are planning for General Greivis now, and it would be nice if Eric Hayes was able to show up as well.
Will they fail? Likely.
But the good news is that the Terps will likely be in the top-10 next year, and that the Maryland fans need but hold on to that offensive, degrading, and misplaced energy for just one more year.
