Accenture Match Play Championships: Second-Round Matchups and Predictions

Tiger Woods won his first-round match and I predict that he will win this event.

Who he plays in the finals remains to be seen, however.

Let's look at the matchups and predict some winners for today.

At 1:11 p.m. ET Vijay Singh plays Luke Donald. Singh is the No. 1 seed in his bracket and I think he will beat Donald to move on to the final 16.

Phil Mickelson plays Zach Johnson at 11:30 a.m. ET and this should be a good one. I know we are all looking for a Phil/Tiger final for caddie fun, but I am picking Zach to pull off the upset today.

Lee Westwood plays Stewart Cink at 11:42 a.m. ET and I like Cink in this one.

Ernie Els will square up against Steve Stricker at 1:24 p.m. ET and the No. 5 seed will hold up his end of the deal in this one. Stricker advances.

At 2:20 p.m. ET we have the match everyone will be watching, as Tiger tees it up against Tim Clark. I have picked Tiger Woods of course.

Geoff Ogilvy will beat Shingo Katayama to advance to the final 16 as well.

Camilo Villegas will prove too strong for Miguel Angel Jimenez and also advance. I like Villegas in this event also.

Hunter Mahan is seeded 12th and I predict an upset over Rory McIlroy, who is seeded fourth.

Paul Casey plays Matthew Goggin and should have no trouble moving on this afternoon. Casey is a good match play kind of  guy.

Ian Poulter tees it up against Charl Schwartzel (who?). I will take Poulter in this one.

Steven Ames plays Peter Hanson and Ames should win.

Sean O'Hair goes up against Boo Weekley and I give this one to Boo.

Anthony Kim is up against Oliver Wilson and you would think Kim would move on.

Jim Furyk plays Martin Kaymer and I like Furyk to move on to the final 16 also.

Justin Leonard is playing Davis Love III  and i will take Love in this one.

The last match of today pits Ross Fisher against Pat Perez. I like the upset in this one and will take Perez.

Sixteen matches, and i think I have picked at least 12 winners.
