WWE SummerSlam 2012 Matches: Bold Predictions for Biggest Fights of the Night

Jesse ReedJun 6, 2018

Shawn Michaels is going to betray Triple H in his fight against Brock Lesnar, and that's not even the biggest surprise you're going to see on Sunday at WWE SummerSlam 2012

The powers that be in the WWE didn't do a good job of hyping up SummerSlam this year, so they'll have to conjure up some major surprises that will have people talking about the matches well after the fights are over on Sunday.

With that in mind, here are my bold predictions for the biggest matches of the night.

TOP NEWS

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh
Monday Night RAW

Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H

This match has to be the main event. The fight between CM Punk, Big Show and John Cena is going to be fun to watch, but those guys don't have any kind of chemistry—good or bad—working in their favor.

Lesnar and Triple H hate one another, and Lesnar made matters worse (or better, depending on how you look at it) by shattering the arm of Michaels on WWE Raw on August 13.

Michaels has every reason to help Triple H win the fight, but that's not what's going to happen.

Bold prediction: Triple H beats the living hell out of Lesnar, but just as he thinks he has the whole thing wrapped up, Michaels is going to sneak up from behind and whack him on the back of the head with a chair. Then, Lesnar will drag himself over and lay on top of Triple H, who will be dazed, winning the match.

CM Punk vs. Big Show vs. John Cena

Everyone seems to want Punk to continue his agonizingly-slow heel turn, and they just might get it. Cena and Big Show aren't going to carry the torch as WWE champion long term, and Punk has the support of the masses.

But, there is another option that would blow this match out of the water.

Bold prediction: Big Show and Cena start to beat up on Punk, when suddenly, the Rock appears out of nowhere and devastates them all.

Chris Jericho vs. Dolph Ziggler

As good as the fight between Lesnar and Triple H is sure to be, this fight has the potential to steal the show. Both men are in excellent form right now, and Ziggler has been one of the best performers all year long.

While the natural tendency would be to assume that Ziggler is going to continue his meteoric rise through the ranks, I'm betting that we'll see a different tale unfold.

Bold prediction: Ziggler and Jericho go back and forth for the first half of the fight. Then, Jericho will start to put the screws to Ziggler. The old man will come through again on the big stage, and he'll finish off Ziggler with the Walls of Jericho.
