WWE: 5 Former WWE Wrestlers Who Would Get a Huge Pop IF They Returned This Year
Former WWE superstars returning to the company is not a rare thing. Some of the greatest moments in WWE history have come when former wrestlers have come back for another stint or another match in the company.
There are some wrestlers who would get a huge pop from the crowd if they returned.
Here is a look at five former WWE wrestlers who would get a huge pop if they returned this year or in the near future.
Ric Flair
1 of 5A hot topic of late has been the potential return of Ric Flair to the WWE.
After one of the most memorable final matches and retirements from the WWE, Flair went over to TNA for about a year but in May, he attempted to have his TNA contract terminated, which led to TNA filing a lawsuit against the WWE. They also fired Flair on May 11.
With Flair's no-compete clause with TNA expiring on September 6th, there is a good chance that he will return to the WWE. Flair would likely return as a manager or an executive, and once the crowd hears the "Wooooo" they are going to go nuts.
Bobby Lashley
2 of 5A few months ago, WrestleNewz.com reported that the former ECW Champion could possibly be returning to the WWE. Lashley had a brief but impactful stint with the WWE from 2004-08.
He has since become an MMA fighter, but a return to the WWE would definitely garner a large reaction from the crowd. His intensity and massive size made him a larger than life figure and a fan-favorite with the crowd.
Kurt Angle
3 of 5Kurt Angle has always been a fan favorite. He was one of the top WWE superstars at the beginning of the 21st century, but has been in the TNA since 2006.
He recently announced on Twitter that he will not wrestle past the age of 46. That leaves about three years before he is supposedly finished.
Don't be surprised if Angle returns to the WWE before his professional wrestling career is over.
Batista
4 of 5Batista quit the WWE a few years ago and has attempted to become a MMA fighter. He has not found the same success in that sport that Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley have found.
When Batista left, he was having a nice run as a heel. If and when he returns, he will probably return as a heel. However, the first time his music hits, Batista will get a huge response from the crowd.
Batista needs the WWE and the WWE would benefit greatly from Batista.
Stone Cold Steve Austin
5 of 5The most popular and arguably the greatest WWE superstar of all time is Stone Cold Steve Austin. He was the top guy during the top time in professional wrestling.
Every time Austin returns to the WWE, he gets a huge pop. That would have been true at Raw 1000, but he apparently had scheduling issues.
Austin's last official match was at WrestleMania 19 against the Rock. There have since been rumors of Austin possibly wrestling in one more match against CM Punk.
If Austin returns this year or at the Royal Rumble with intentions of competing in a match, he will get one of the biggest pops in his WWE career.
