San Francisco Giants: Melky Cabrera Suspended 50 Games for Positive Drug Test
Just when the San Francisco Giants were getting all their players back, their biggest bat in 2012 is suspended for 50 games.
According to Dayn Perry of CBS Sports, Melky Cabrera has been handed the 50-game suspension for positively testing for testosterone, which is against league policy.
Back in July, Andrew Baggarly of Comcast SportsNet Bay Area thought that he had tested positive of taking a performance enhancing drug. Back then, Cabrera denied it.

Now, there's nothing he can do but sit out for 50 games, which does include the postseason.
When Cabrera denied the rumor, everyone thought that was the end of the rumor.
Cabrera does admit to using testosterone and said this after the suspension was handed down:
“My positive test was the result of my use of a substance I should not have used," said Cabrera (via SFGate). "I accept my suspension under the Joint Drug Program and will try to move on with my life."
This is the second Giant player to be caught taking PEDs this season. Earlier in the spring, Guillermo Mota was handed down a 100 game suspension for his violation with the league's drug policy.
Cabrera had one of the hottest bats for the Giants this season after signing with the Giants in the offseason.
Going into Wednesday's matinee against the Washington Nationals, Cabrera was hitting .346 with 11 home runs with 60 RBI. He also leads the National League with 84 runs.
