WWE Appoints a New VP of Digital Media, Triple H/Stephanie's Power Growing

In a fairly significant development on the corporate side of things, WWE announced today in a statement on their official website that they have hired a new Executive Vice President of Digital Media, Perkins Miller.

Discussing the duties of Miller, whose extensive experience includes serving as founder and COO of successful digital media group Vocativ, the site writes:

Miller will oversee the development of strategic plans and initiatives across all of WWE’s digital and social channels on a global basis. He will report directly to WWE Executive Vice President of Creative, Stephanie McMahon. 

"

While this may, on the surface, seem like a routine corporate hire, there is likely more to this story. As Dave Meltzer notes in his daily update over at F4Wonline.com: "This is part of the much broader picture of Stephanie and Paul Levesque getting their own team of senior management in place."

The power of chief operating officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque and his wife has reportedly been growing immensely over the last year as the couple prepare to take over from owner Vince McMahon at some point in the near future.

In addition to making various new hirings in all areas of the company, the increasing influence of HHH was cited as the main reason for the once-powerful Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis' fall from power and eventual resignation from that position last month.   

As time goes on, it will be interesting to see what other changes are made as part of the new regime, and how they will affect the old guard in the company.
